Alright! This post is about a weird day i have had on twitter. I, as is evident from my tweets and blog, am not a supporter of tactics used by Team Anna, but I support a corruption-free India. To be correct, as blogged earlier, both the government's bill and Team Anna bill are equally (if not more) full of errors and need better inputs.
Now that crap be that. From, quite some days, I have received a lot of hate tweets for not supporting Anna Hazare's *valiant* effort. Well! i won't. He's a media-created, media-hungry kind of person (now hate this!, ppl!). Ok! due respect to his age and all the awards he has been bestowed till now (and which he doesn't seem to be giving away to the *corrupt* nation and government), he is a hero for many and no one can deny that now. But if he can dissent the government... he has the right to dissent... And I and many more like me, have the right to dissent him too... India is still a democracy!
Coming back to tweets... i had to block n mute many a followers and general twitter users today... It's sad most of them were senior citizens trying to lecture me on the issue. Well.. first thing, anti-corruption doesn't mean Anna Hazare and secondly, keep your thoughts for yourself, I ain't in need of further education from you and as one of my friends on twitter said "these people take retirement and don't have anything to do but lecture on twitter?" To add to this, I would say that there are n number of tweets as well which we tweet... care a thought about them too... Wait.. probably I should stop listening to Coldplay and start listening to Indian Classical music (what say! lecture!!!!!!!).
Anyways, had to share something about news channels.. Often then not i have felt that there is need for responsible media in the country which doesn't jump to conclusions.... but sorry to say! it's all the cut-throat competition that today news channel have become 24-hour reality shows! Had a one sort of bizarre incident on twitter today.
Now, most of you are aware that a third draft bill is under process by a member of National Advisory Council (NAC) member, Aruna Roy (for more info on her, visit here) and her associates, especially National Campaign for People's Right to Information (NCPRI), with which she is associated, have prepared a version of Lokpal Bill and would present it before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law and Justice and Personnel. So today she highlighted her draft plan in a press meet (reported by PTI , available on Times of India website, see here). I liked the draft plan (and not the draft bill... because they haven't released the draft bill to the public yet... and seek to perhaps take it straight to PSC on LJP). So, i tweeted the following in appreciation:
"Aruna Roy and Co's draft.. looks better than Lokpal and Janlokpal.... more than that their approach is much better #win #ArunaRoy #lokpal""
Deconstructing it a bit: draft here refers to draft plan, i.e., how she is going to approach the committee and put forward her version... and approach here refers to being humble towards government and team anna, and asserting the firm belief that the democratic institutions are not something to be done away with and emphasisng that any one who says their view should be the only view is wrong, be it the government or team anna. So this was the meaning of my tweet.
But then i got a blunt reply from Sagarika Ghose, the Deputy Editor of CNN-IBN:

@SagarikaGhost Sagarika Ghose
"@slahu They don't have a draft. Did you even know that? Where do you get your facts from?"
"@slahu They don't have a draft. Did you even know that? Where do you get your facts from?"
Ok! perfect! I know she thought I was referring to draft bill... not her fault...
But that brought me to one realisation... that how quickly she responded to general tweet without having a look at any of my earlier tweets... and decided to kind of halt me on stopping "rumour-mill". First i felt quite a bit annoyed at it... but then felt really nice to know that even though she's a top notch, she made sure i should not be misled on any news or source of news! And get my facts corrected! aye-aye ma'am!
Yes! I knew who she was when she sent this tweet to me. I have seen her on the idiot-box and have been an admirer of her serious-to-the-point approach on debates on her shows. N this account is a parody account or say a fake account using her name! and i was aware of that too... So chose not to reply... n let the so called "parody" stick up his nose where it belongs!... Her real account is @sagarikaghose. Worth following!
Some responsible media persons still exist and shall continue to exist... the only thing is what they show on the idiot box.. For some reasons... i have become a fan of Rajdeep Sardesai... not much of his news attributes (every news channel report looks the same... though his debates are kind of better)... but for his blunt and realistic tweets! (atleast for me)
Alright! ENOUGH OF BAK-BAK... and i resolve to quit blogging on this damn lokpal related issues... it's so damn boring... plus i dont intend to have a career in politics or c-evil society!

P.s. To dissent is everyone's right. To dissent a dissent is also a right :)
